Why We Built This Site
Indiana generally permits access to public court records, but each channel has a distinct job. MyCase displays the public Chronological Case Summary, the Shelby Circuit Court and Superior Courts 1 and 2 control hearings and orders, and the Shelby County Clerk keeps and certifies the official file. We collect the verified contact details, cause-number guidance, portal links, and request steps that help a reader reach the right official source.
What You Will Find Here
- Docket guides: how criminal dockets and civil dockets are searched and read in Shelby County
- Court dates and settings: how to read the court calendar and confirm a hearing date or setting
- Case lookups: how to run a case search by party name or case number through the statewide portal
- Record requests: how court records and certified copies are requested from the clerk of court
What We Cannot Do
This is a privately run reference site with no affiliation to an Indiana court, clerk, or government agency. Its role has firm limits:
- We cannot pull an official docket sheet or case file for anyone
- We cannot change, reschedule, or reset a court date or hearing setting
- We cannot remove, seal, or amend a case on any docket
- We cannot issue certified copies of any docket, order, or court document
- We cannot give legal advice or explain how a specific case applies to you
- We cannot guarantee that every phone number, fee, or setting listed on this site is current right now
Only the clerk of court or the trial court that heard the case can issue an official or certified copy of a docket sheet or court record. We can point you to the right office, but the document has to come from them.
Search Partners
Outside providers power search boxes on some pages and control their own results, fees, and service terms. A paid enrollment reached through one of those tools may generate a referral payment that supports free public access to this reference site. We do not set partner prices or determine what their searches return.
